A Little About Us

We are different people with different professional strengths, but there is one thing we all have in common:

We want to provide your dog with both excellent veterinary treatment and the most comfortable experience possible.

Our entire team is Fear Free certified. Stress-free handling is therefore not just a special interest for individual employees—it is a shared professional approach and part of the way the entire Hundeklinikken works.

We emphasize reading the dog’s signals, adapting our handling, and collaborating with both the dog and you.

Because you know your dog best, and we see you as an important part of the treatment process.

“What we all have in common is that we look at both what is ailing your dog and the individual dog standing in front of us.”

Ready to meet us?
Whether your dog loves the vet or needs a little extra time and calm, we look forward to getting to know you both.

Mai Mundeling - Veterinarian and co-owner of Hundeklinikken

Mai is a veterinarian, clinic owner, and co-owner of Hundeklinikken.

She graduated as a veterinarian from the University of Copenhagen in 2014 and took over Ryesgade Dyreklinik in 2016. In 2022, Katrine became a co-owner, and together they began the transformation from a traditional small animal clinic to what is today Hundeklinikken: a veterinary clinic exclusively for dogs with a special focus on stress-free handling.

Mai has a special professional interest in dental care and treatment and has participated in extensive courses and continuing education within the field over the years.

She is also one of relatively few veterinarians in Denmark who also works with fish, which, along with dogs, hold a special place in her heart.

Outside the clinic, there is a bit more adrenaline hidden behind her calm demeanor. Among other things, Mai has dived with great white sharks, skydived, bungee jumped, gone river rafting, and gone paragliding.

Katrine - Veterinary Nurse and Co-owner of Hundeklinikken

Katrine is a veterinary nurse and co-owner of Hundeklinikken and has specialized in stress-free handling and Cooperative Care.

She qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2004 and has many years of experience from small animal practice. In addition, she is a certified dog trainer, Fear Free-certified at Elite level, and a certified Cooperative Care Trainer.

For many years, Katrine has delved into dog behavior, especially how we can make veterinary handling and treatment safer and more voluntary for dogs.

She teaches veterinarians and veterinary nurses stress-free handling and has, among other things, taught on the continuing education program for specialized veterinary nurses in behavior. She also gives lectures, webinars, and courses for both veterinary professionals and dog owners.

At the clinic, Katrine primarily works with fear of the vet and handling issues.

[Fear of the vet and handling issues]

In her private life, Katrine has owned both Australian Shepherds and Labradors over the years. Today, she shares her life with Nomi, a rescue Chihuahua, who, according to her, is both the funniest and most challenging dog she has ever had.

And there’s still a horse dream in the background: One day, she hopes to have a horse that can ideally be ridden with as little equipment as possible.

Victoire - Veterinarian at Hundeklinikken

Victoire is a veterinarian and joined Hundeklinikken in January 2026.

Originally from France, she graduated as a veterinarian in 2023 as the youngest graduate in her class in Normandy. Before coming to Denmark, she worked at several French clinics and has experience in both general small animal practice and emergency work.

Victoire is particularly interested in internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and dog behavior. She is fluent in French, English, and Spanish and offers consultations in all three languages. This makes her a natural choice for many of our international dog owners.

Expat-friendly veterinarian - French, Spanish, Danish, English

Unfortunately, her own Golden Retriever still lives in France because the housing situation in Copenhagen has not yet made it possible to bring the dog along.

When Victoire is not at the clinic, she is often found on horseback. She rides dressage on her Spanish Warmblood.

Natalie - Veterinary Nurse at Hundeklinikken

Natalie is a veterinary nurse and joined Hundeklinikken in January 2026.

She graduated as a veterinary nurse in 2019 and has experience from both small veterinary clinics and larger animal hospitals.

Natalie is particularly interested in preventive healthcare, dentistry, dog behavior, and working with puppies and young dogs. She truly enjoys the interaction with dog owners and has previously taught prospective owners in “before-we-buy-a-dog” courses.

She is especially passionate about the work we can do before things become difficult: giving puppies and young dogs positive experiences and helping owners build a strong foundation for the dog’s future life.

If Natalie were a dog herself, she has no doubt about the breed: a Golden Retriever. Happy, fun, easily distracted, and food-motivated.

In her private life, Natalie lives in Copenhagen with her husband, their two children, and, of course, Presley the Golden Retriever.

A veterinary clinic just for dogs

Veterinarian - Surgery and Anesthesia

Hundeklinikken is Denmark’s only veterinary clinic that exclusively treats dogs.

This means there are no other animal species at the clinic, and our environment, routines, and way of working are designed with the dog at the center.

Why only dogs?

• Your dog won’t encounter other animal species in the waiting area
• There is no hissing from cats or sounds from other animals
• The surroundings are calm and predictable
• We can focus our professional expertise, routines, and skills on one species—for the benefit of your dog

Hundeklinikken is not just a clinic for dogs that are afraid of the vet. It is a veterinary clinic built for dogs.

An International Clinic

Contact - Hundeklinikken

At Hundeklinikken, we also see many international dog owners. This allows us to offer consultations in several languages.

Veterinarian Victoire Castel is originally from France and speaks fluent:

🇫🇷 French
🇬🇧 English
🇪🇸 Spanish

This makes it possible for many of our international dog owners to speak with the veterinarian in a language they feel comfortable with.

The rest of the team naturally assists our Danish-speaking clients in Danish.

INDEPENDENTLY OWNED – NOT PART OF A VETERINARY CHAIN

Hundeklinikken is privately owned and independent. We are not part of a veterinary chain.

For us, this means the freedom to decide for ourselves how we want to run the clinic, which values should take center stage, and where we want to allocate our resources.

Hundeklinikken is run by the people you meet at the clinic.
